Overview

Engineering tools for Mekanism factories: remote mining, whole-chain ore refining, precise item distribution, factory upgrades, large-scale fluid pumping, rock synthesis, alloy and circuit forging, and machine overclocking.

Mekanism: Engineering is an unofficial addon for Mekanism, for Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge and for Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge or NeoForge. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by the Mekanism team; it adds new blocks and items that work alongside Mekanism’s own.

Download the latest version from CurseForge.

Install these on both the client and the server: this is not a server-only or client-only addon.

Each Minecraft version has its own file. The 1.21.1 file targets NeoForge only, as Mekanism does.

Put the Mekanism and Mekanism: Engineering jars in mods/. Keep only one version of each mod. Mekanism Generators, Tools and Additions are optional. A version of Mekanism outside the accepted range is refused at startup rather than loaded. On 1.21.1, the five official builds, 10.7.15 to 10.7.19, are the supported ones; 10.7.20 to 10.7.23 is the unofficial Mekanism Overclocked edition, which loads too: those versions are accepted, but not guaranteed.

JEI, EMI, Jade and WTHIT support is optional too: install any of them and the addon adds its recipes and overlays; without them nothing changes.

Release notes: the 1.2.1 notes list what changed in the current version, and the 1.2.0 notes the one before; the 1.1.0 notes list the Mekanism, JEI, Jade and WTHIT builds that version was tested with. The 1.0.0 notes record the first stable release.

  • Quantum Digital Miner: the Digital Miner’s endgame successor: same filters and settings, radius up to 128, four times the mining speed, and energy or items delivered through quantum frequencies.
  • Digital Miner Companion: link a Digital Miner or Quantum Digital Miner, prepare its filters and configuration, and start, pause or reset it remotely while its chunk is loaded and permissions allow it.
  • Quantum Ore Refinery (Added in 1.2.0): a 10 × 4 × 3 multiblock that runs Mekanism’s five ore-processing chains in one step, so one ore gives up to five ingots, with an optional Quantum/QIO module that sends the products straight to your network. Structure and parts shows the building layer by layer with every recipe.
  • Quantum Energy Receiver (Added in 0.6): a thin plate, Basic to Ultimate, that draws energy from an existing Quantum frequency into the machine it is mounted on.
  • Radioactive Quantum Entangloporter (Added in 0.6, reworked in 1.2.0): shielded transport for radioactive chemicals only, on radioactive frequencies of its own, with its own buffer and energy.
  • Quantum Network Controller (Added in 0.6): a read-only overview of a quantum frequency: what goes in, what it holds, what goes out, and which families of devices take it.
  • Quantum Network Tablet (Added in 1.2.0): the Controller’s screen in your hand.
  • Quantum Portable Teleporter (Added in 0.7): a handheld, battery-powered teleporter: jump to a Mekanism Teleporter’s frequency, to checked coordinates, or to a random safe place far away.
  • Quantum Chargepad (Added in 0.7): Mekanism’s Chargepad at endgame pace: every energy item you carry charges at once, armour first, from a cable or (since 1.2.0) from a quantum frequency.
  • Industrial Fluid Pump: a 3 × 3 × 3 endgame pump, fed through a Mechanical Pipe network, that draws water without end, lava, and heavy water with a Filter Upgrade.
  • Petrogenic Synthesizer: makes stone, obsidian, basalt, granite and other rocks from water and lava, one product at a time.
  • Petrogenic Synthesis Plant: runs eight synthesis lines at once; its Hydro Condenser and Magma Synthesizer Upgrade modules can make its own water and lava from energy.
  • Alloy Forge (Added in 1.3): a stronger Metallurgic Infuser for alloys: a copper ingot becomes an infused, a reinforced and then an atomic alloy in one machine, with three reservoirs to fill. Four factories run 3, 5, 7 or 9 lines.
  • Circuit Forge (Added in 1.3): makes Mekanism’s four control circuits from osmium ingots, redstone and the three alloys, and keeps the alloys in reserve inside the machine. Four factories run 3, 5, 7 or 9 lines.
  • Basic Time Overclocker (Added in 1.3): place it next to a machine and the machine runs four times as fast, for energy.
  • JEI, EMI, Jade and WTHIT (Added in 1.1.0; EMI in 1.3): recipe categories and information pages in JEI and in EMI, and a compact overlay on every machine in Jade and WTHIT. All four are optional.

New to the mod? Getting Started covers the rules every machine shares (side configuration, upgrades, security, broken-machine data). Configuration lists every server setting and the one client setting. FAQ answers common questions.
