v1.2.1
A fix release on top of 1.2, for Minecraft 1.21.1 and 1.20.1: no new machine, no new crafting recipe, no save format change. The refinery’s yields now follow the pack’s own recipes, and a refinery built in 1.2 may need a small change (see below).
Quantum Ore Refinery
Section titled “Quantum Ore Refinery”- The Quantum/QIO output module must now sit in one of the two cells made for it: in the output column, in place of the output port or just above it. Anywhere else, it stops the structure from forming, and the chat message gives its position and where it goes. A refinery built in 1.2 with the module elsewhere stops until you move it; nothing is lost.
- A second output module still stops the structure from forming; the message now says so instead of “Wrong number of ports”.
- Input Ports now refuse any item that is not an ore the refinery can work, whole, at every slot, with or without an output port. In 1.2 such items could pass through to the output (when it had an output port). Sort mixed item flows before the refinery.
- The refinery now takes every ore, raw ore and block of raw ore of the modpack that Mekanism can enrich (the common ore, raw material
and raw block tags:
c:on 1.21.1,forge:on 1.20.1), instead of a fixed list of metals. Each level gives what the pack’s own Mekanism recipes give, so a pack that changes its yields changes the refinery’s too. When the pack’s recipes take an ore through only some of the x3 to x5, the others are not available for that ore. Removing an ore from themekanismengineering:refinery_orestag no longer keeps it out of the refinery when it is in one of these common tags: the tag now only adds items. - When a pack’s recipes would make a level give less than the level below it, that level keeps the 1.2 behaviour instead: the x2 output scaled to the level.
- Diamond and emerald ores, which Mekanism does not process past enriching, keep their x3 to x5 (the x2 output scaled to the level) and now take twice the chemicals of an iron ore at the same level. A pack with its own recipes for them decides instead.
- Input Ports at the ends of the structure take items only. One sneaking click of the Configurator on an end port left on Fluids or Gases (a 1.2 world) sets it back to Items; leaving Items is refused there, formed or not. Until then the structure does not form, and the message names the port.
- With no output port, a module that is off or has no frequency keeps the products in the buffer instead of moving them to hidden slots that only an output port empties. When the module works again it sends them, along with anything a 1.2 world had left in those slots. With an output port, those leftovers leave by the port.
- Taking the ore out of a job under way, or swapping it for another ore, gives back the energy the job had already paid.
- The Home page, the Stats page and Jade show the same energy use: what the machine paid on its last tick.
- The Stats page and the level cells follow the maximum level you set. A level above it reads “Above max” on the Stats page (instead of “Available” or “Waiting”) and “above the maximum you set” on its cell (instead of “ready”). “Max multiplier” no longer goes past it.
- An ore with no recipe at the capped level (a block of raw ore at x1) says “No recipe here” instead of waiting for a level.
- Another player can no longer change the mode of a private refinery’s Input Ports with the Configurator while it is not formed. The HUD of any port of a private refinery, formed or not, shows another player “Restricted access” only.
- A second controller built over a formed refinery no longer takes its parts: it does not form, and its message says why. The Configurator, the screen and the HUD keep answering to the formed refinery. Once that refinery is taken down, the second controller can form.
- A button of the output module screen pressed while the refinery has no module is still refused, and the action bar now says why.
- A port put back, or whose chunk loaded again, between two checks of the structure is bound again by the next check.
- A block next to the output port that takes items and then fails during the same call no longer duplicates what it had taken.
- When a block next to the output port throws while taking items and the game cannot tell whether it took them, the stack counts as taken (one log line gives the place); an item is never given twice.
- The refinery build command no longer replaces a machine that holds only a fluid, a gas or energy, and its refusal message names them too.
- A job loaded from a hand-edited save with impossible values finishes normally, and its progress bar stays within the bar.
- On Minecraft 1.20.1, refinery girders and conveyors turn by themselves to the pillar or aligned piece that holds them, as on 1.21.1.
- On Minecraft 1.20.1, a Mekanism cable or pipe put down next to a refinery port before the structure formed now starts to work when the structure forms (before, it stayed unconnected until it was broken and put back). Forge 47 cannot tell a neighbour that a port’s contents changed, so the refinery sends the six blocks around the port a block update at the end of the tick; only blocks that react to a block update, as Mekanism’s cables and pipes do, are told. A pipe of another mod that does not, put down before the structure forms, still needs to be broken and put back. Minecraft 1.21.1 tells every neighbour.
Quantum family
Section titled “Quantum family”- A delivery to a frequency or a QIO system of another mod that fails midway no longer loses the stack taken out of the machine.
- Quantum Portable Teleporter: after a random jump, the side panel and the item’s “Last destination” tooltip show where you landed instead of the previous destination (a frequency or typed coordinates), so Use again opens the Coordinates tab with that place filled in.
- Quantum Portable Teleporter: when the frequency list is cut at 256 entries, your own frequencies are listed first.
- Quantum Portable Teleporter: an item set to another player’s private frequency no longer takes you to a frequency of yours with the same name. A dead player can no longer jump.
- Quantum Portable Teleporter: a public frequency deleted and created again under the same name by another player shows as the chosen one again on the screen.
- Quantum Portable Teleporter: a check of a far place that is given up while its chunk loads no longer lets a new far load start at every tick.
- Quantum Chargepad: its mode button takes at most one change every two ticks, and the last click of a quick series is still applied.
- Quantum Digital Miner relocation: the move is refused with nothing changed when one of its chunks unloaded during the charge, or when the disk fails as it starts. In single player, the save taken for the move no longer waits for every chunk of the world to be written. A move that fails in a way only a restart can undo now stops the server, and the next start puts the machine and its blocks back.
- Radioactive Quantum Entangloporter: what it ejects by its output faces now shows in the Network Controller’s flow.
- Quantum Energy Receiver: a receiver whose reserve is waiting no longer marks its chunk for saving at every tick.
- Quantum Energy Receiver: the face buttons show the block that is there now, not the one there when the screen opened. A block of another mod that fails to give its item shows no picture instead of breaking the screen.
- Quantum Digital Miner: when the server has switched it off in the config, the Start button says so in the action bar instead of doing nothing.
- Quantum Digital Miner filter library: it still answers when the server is slow, and a burst of clicks costs the server less.
- Quantum Digital Miner: a search that fails because of another mod stops the miner as a failed search, and the server’s tick goes on. A miner with no filter no longer counts its zone as mined.
- Quantum Digital Miner list: a chunk loaded while the list was busy (a pregeneration, a fast flight) is no longer missed.
- A dimension that a mod creates after the server has started keeps its miners and its devices in the Network Controller.
- Quantum Digital Miner relocation: with no charge time, the move is refused at once when a chunk around the machine is not loaded, instead of failing on it. A creative player holding a sword is no longer told that the place is protected.
Precision Upgrade Controller and Quantum Digital Miner
Section titled “Precision Upgrade Controller and Quantum Digital Miner”- On 1.21.1, the Precision Upgrade Controller and the Quantum Digital Miner now stack to one, as on 1.20.1. Stacks already in a world keep their count.
Industrial Fluid Pump
Section titled “Industrial Fluid Pump”- The Configurator used on the pump’s frame does nothing for a player who cannot build (adventure mode).
- The search for fluid sources uses less memory at large radii.
Petrogenic Synthesis Plant and Precision Logistical Distributor
Section titled “Petrogenic Synthesis Plant and Precision Logistical Distributor”- A neighbouring block that fails while taking items no longer costs the machine its tick or the stack. When the game cannot tell whether the block took the stack, it counts as taken; an item is never given twice.
- Petrogenic Synthesis Plant: a stack no output would take stays in its buffer slot, so a full chest no longer stirs the buffer at every tick.
Digital Miner Companion
Section titled “Digital Miner Companion”- A double click on a filter’s remove button removes that filter only, not the one that moved up into its row, even when two filters with the same name sit side by side. Turning a filter on or off acts on that filter only, too.
- The remaining time of a Quantum Digital Miner is no longer up to sixteen times too long, and a Digital Miner with eight speed upgrades no longer shows 0 ticks left while blocks remain.
- A number field keeps what you type until the server has answered it; a number too large goes back to the saved value.
Screens
Section titled “Screens”- The Quantum Portable Teleporter screen, the routing window and the Upgrade Controller screen do less work on each frame and each tick.
- Quantum Portable Teleporter: the frequency list keeps the place you scrolled to; it is only rebuilt when the list or the tab changes.
- Quantum Network Controller: the frequency list window no longer opens twice on top of itself.
- Quantum Ore Refinery output module: the frequency list now shows the public frequencies, then the trusted ones, then the private ones, each group by name, as its description says; it used to mix the three groups in one list by name. Trusted frequencies exist on 1.21.1 only.
- Routing window: the eye button (hide or show the neighbours) writes the client config at most once a second; a change still waiting is written when the window closes, and when you quit or disconnect.
- Upgrade Controller: the preview a spectator sees is worked out every second instead of four times a second; a click still updates it.
- Petrogenic Synthesizer: several machines making different products no longer redo each other’s drawing work on each frame.
- With the Quantum Digital Miner’s energy multiplier set to 0 in the config, its HUD and its comparator still give a reading.
- The Jade and WTHIT tooltips of the mod’s machines write a whole energy without a decimal, as the screens do (“0 FE”, not “0.0 FE”): 1.21.1 now reads like 1.20.1.
Network
Section titled “Network”- Client and server must both run 1.2.1: a 1.2 client is refused when it joins a 1.2.1 server, with a message, as some screen buttons and refinery states are numbered differently.
- Screen buttons now go through the mod’s own packet. On Minecraft 1.20.1, pressing one of the later buttons of a screen (such as the Digital Miner Companion’s Min Y) could act on another button.
- The mod no longer patches Mekanism’s code (no mixin), so a Mekanism update can no longer break it there. Its machines now take Mekanism’s own screen packets as Mekanism’s machines do. A Quantum machine’s frequency still changes only from that machine’s screen, open, in reach and for a player allowed to use it, and a screen opened from too far, or by a player who may not use the machine, closes at once.
Compatibility
Section titled “Compatibility”- Minecraft 1.20.1: the jar now loads on Forge 47.2.0 and later as well as on NeoForge 47.1.106 (it accepted NeoForge 47.1.106 only). A dedicated server of each was started with the jar of this version and Mekanism 10.4.16.80 (Forge 47.2.0, Forge 47.4.28 and NeoForge 47.1.106). Forge 47.1.x is not supported. The 1.21.1 file still targets NeoForge only, as Mekanism does.
- JEI, Jade and WTHIT now each have a lowest version: JEI 19.25.1.332, Jade 15.10 and WTHIT 12.10.2 on 1.21.1; JEI 15.56.0.205, Jade 11.12.3 and WTHIT 8.19.3 on 1.20.1. On 1.20.1, the loader refuses an older one at start, with a message naming it. The 1.21.1 file declares them the same way.
- Mekanism: the mod now accepts only the versions it is tested with. On 1.21.1, Mekanism 10.7.15 to 10.7.19 and Mekanism Overclocked 10.7.20 to 10.7.23 (the Overclocked job is allowed to fail: those versions are accepted but not guaranteed); on 1.20.1, Mekanism 10.4.13 to 10.4.16.
