Configuration

Mekanism: Engineering registers one NeoForge SERVER config, which holds almost every setting, and one small CLIENT config (see Client settings); there is no COMMON config. The server config lives per world, at:

<world>/serverconfig/mekanismengineering-server.toml

It is generated the first time the world starts with the mod installed. In multiplayer, the value that applies is the server’s file, not a client’s. Every entry below is grouped by its section in that file; the section name is in brackets in each heading.

NeoForge corrects a number outside the listed range to the nearest allowed value, and a value that is not a number falls back to the default. For example, a Distributor intervalTicks below 40 becomes 40.

The Quantum Ore Refinery has no key in this file: its levels, its speed (200 ticks down to 4 with accelerators), its tanks and its energy price are fixed in the addon. Its energy follows Mekanism’s own Enrichment Chamber setting (each ore recipe costs 200 times what the chamber uses in one tick), so a modpack that changes Mekanism’s machine energy changes the refinery too. The same goes for the Radioactive Quantum Entangloporter, whose buffer, speed and prices are fixed values, and for the Quantum Network Tablet.

KeyDefaultRangeMeaning
enabledtruen/aTurns the Digital Miner Companion on or off: linking, reading, remote control, estimates and relocations.
cooldownTicks101 – 200Shortest time (ticks) between two links of the same Companion, per player.
estimateEnabledtruen/aAllows the Companion’s on-demand “fresh estimate” of blocks the draft would currently mine. Read-only: it only reads chunks already loaded, never starts the miner, and is spread over several ticks.
estimateBudgetMicros2000100 – 20000Server time (microseconds per tick) shared by every estimate running at once.
estimateMaxBlocks4,000,0001 – 50,000,000Largest configured volume (block positions) an estimate accepts before refusing to run.
estimateMaxConcurrent41 – 32Most estimates that can run on the server at the same time (at most one per player).

Precision Logistical Distributor [distributor]

maxRadius1281 – 128Largest mining radius players may set, in blocks.
speedMultiplier8.01.0 – 16.0How much faster it mines than Mekanism’s Digital Miner with the same Speed Upgrades. Four before 1.3: a file still at 4.0 is moved to 8.0 once, at the first load of 1.3.
speedMultiplierMigratedfalse–Set by the mod once it has done that move; leave it alone.
energyMultiplier4.00.0 – 64.0Energy use and base storage, as a multiple of Mekanism’s own Digital Miner settings.
maxBlocksPerTick81 – 64Most blocks one Quantum Digital Miner can mine in a single run of its work.
maxBlocksPerGameTick321 – 1024Most blocks one Quantum Digital Miner can mine in a whole game tick, all runs together: a Time Overclocker runs the work several times per tick and cannot get past this.
maxChecksPerTick51216 – 65536Most target positions examined in a single tick, including ones that changed since the search.
searchBudgetMicros2000100 – 50000Server time (microseconds per tick) shared by every running search.

blockedDimensionsnonelist of idsDimensions the teleporter never jumps to or from, as ids (for example minecraft:the_end).
allowCoordinatestrue–Off, the Coordinates tab is greyed out and every check or jump to coordinates is refused, at no cost. Teleporters and Random are not affected.
allowRandomtrue–Off, the Random tab is greyed out and every random search is refused, at no cost. Teleporters and Coordinates are not affected.
coordinateAndRandomBlockedDimensionsnonelist of idsDimensions a player cannot use the Coordinates and Random tabs from, as ids. enabledtruen/aMaster switch of the Time Overclocker. Off, the Overclockers already placed do nothing and their screen says the server switched them off.
maxMultiplier2561 – 256Highest speed a Time Overclocker may give, whatever its tier allows.
maxExtraTicksPerServerTick20000 – 1,000,000Most extra machine ticks all the Time Overclockers together may add in one server tick.
blacklistthe 5 fission reactor blockslist of block idsBlock ids a Time Overclocker never speeds up, one id per entry (for example "mekanismgenerators:fission_reactor_casing"). Default: "mekanismgenerators:fission_reactor_casing", "mekanismgenerators:fission_reactor_port", "mekanismgenerators:fission_reactor_logic_adapter", "mekanismgenerators:fission_fuel_assembly" and "mekanismgenerators:control_rod_assembly"; the fusion reactor is still sped up. A config file generated before this default keeps its old value (an empty list) and has to be edited by hand. An Overclocker is never sped up, whatever this says.

The Overclocker’s energy cost per extra tick (100 J) and its storage (2,000,000 J) are not in this file in 1.3.

energyUsage100 J/t0 – maxEnergy the Circuit Forge draws per tick while it works. A factory draws this for each line.
energyStorage80,000 J1 – maxEnergy the Circuit Forge stores. A factory stores half of this for each line, and never less than one tick of its usage.

Quantum Network Controller [quantum_network]

Section titled “Quantum Network Controller [quantum_network]”
KeyDefaultRangeMeaning
timingLogsfalsen/aWrites one line to latest.log for every snapshot the Controller sends (server side) and for every wait the Controller screen shows (client side): where the time went, how many devices were looked at, how large the answer was. It only measures: nothing shown or saved changes. Debugging only.
cacheSeconds300 – 300How long, in seconds, the Controller or Tablet screen may show the last figures it had for a frequency and a resource while the first measure of a newly opened screen or tab runs. The live figures replace them as soon as they exist, about one or two seconds later. 0 shows no earlier figures.

A small CLIENT config, mekanismengineering-client.toml, in your instance’s config folder (it belongs to you, not to a server).

KeyDefaultMeaning
